At CMS Physiotherapy, we specialize in treating Golfer’s Elbow (Medial Epicondylitis), a condition that causes pain and inflammation on the inside of the elbow. Although it is commonly associated with golfers, Golfer’s Elbow can affect anyone who performs repetitive gripping or wrist flexion movements. Whether you're an athlete, office worker, or manual laborer, our physiotherapy treatments are tailored to reduce pain, promote healing, and restore strength and mobility in your elbow. Our skilled physiotherapists focus on targeting the root cause of the injury, using non-invasive techniques to get you back to your daily activities without pain.
Golfer’s Elbow is an overuse injury that affects the tendons on the inner side of the elbow, where the forearm muscles attach to the medial epicondyle (the bony prominence on the inside of the elbow). This condition is often caused by repetitive motions involving gripping, flexing the wrist, or swinging sports equipment like a golf club.
Common Symptoms of Golfer’s Elbow:
Pain or tenderness on the inner side of the elbow
Pain that radiates down the forearm or up to the upper arm
Swelling and stiffness in the elbow
Weakness in the wrist or hand
Pain with gripping or flexing the wrist, such as when lifting objects, shaking hands, or swinging a golf club
Decreased range of motion in the elbow
We offer a combination of evidence-based treatments to reduce pain, improve function, and promote healing in the elbow:
💪 Strengthening Exercises to target the forearm muscles and improve elbow stability
⚡ Manual Therapy to release muscle tension and improve movement
🧘 Stretching and Soft Tissue Techniques to reduce stiffness and improve flexibility
🧑🦽 Eccentric Strengthening Exercises to promote tendon healing
💡 Ergonomic Advice and activity modifications to prevent further strain on the elbow
🏋️♂️ Kinesiology Taping to provide support and reduce stress on the affected tendons
🧠 Nerve Gliding Exercises to improve nerve mobility and reduce discomfort
🏠 Home Exercise Program for continued rehabilitation outside of therapy sessions
